Hopefully this whole valve cover gasket stuff goes well. At least I get to see a little of what’s going on in there

Just be glad it’s not a transverse V6!

Make sure to use gasket maker (high temp sealant) where you car calls for it! Unless you enjoy leaks.

Have to double check the fsm before I do it. Parts are still a few days out

OEM or equivalent? The other thing that is important is torque. Use a torque wrench with the manufacture’s specs! Sorry if you didn't want/need any advice lol

RTV all four corners, and the edges of the black half moon seals in the back end of the head.

OEM and torque is something like 3.7ft/lbs so it's basically turn until it's a bit tight. The bolts only have threads on the last maybe 1/4 inch.

I ordered new half moon seals but they seem fine. Not sure if I should replace them. And with the RTV i put it in between the gasket and he block right?

Yeah I never use a torque wrench, but I did for my VC gasket. But yeah you can basically just tighten by feel, just don’t crush the gasket. And cleaning off the old gasket maker is important as well for a proper seal.

Yeah its just to keep the corners and gaps sealed. There should be good illustrations online or in the manual.

I just need to look more. I think I'm always seeing the one for the STi online.

Gasket maker = high temp sealent = RTV. There will probably (should) be some caked on where you’re going to put the new sealent.

Same thing. My N/A EJ25d was no different from my buddy’s STi.
